Front Entrance update Concrete Doctors – Just the prescription that was required to help out On Saturday August the 13th at 7.00 a.m. the celebrations will commence with Te Hura ngaa Tekoteko me ngaa Pou (the unveiling of the carved Tekoteko and Pou) but for this to take there is a lot of preparatory work to be done on the front brick wall where the carvings are to be mounted. As we are all aware work of this nature costs money and this was going to be a huge outlay of almost $5000.00 but when Peter and Ann Marie Housiaux heard about what was happening and what was required it was Concrete Doctors to the rescue! Concrete Doctors are doing all the work to enable the carvings to be mounted on the front walls of the college entrance - free of charge. Peter and Ann Marie who own Concrete Doctors have been outstanding supporters of the college over many years. This is just another example of how they have got in behind this wonderful initiative to help the college community out despite not having any of their children remaining here at the college. (NB:- Jordan and Josh Housiaux are featured in this month’s ex- students profiles) This is not the only way that the Concrete Doctors help the students of this college. They also provide scholarships every year to enable students to develop as leaders in our community and to go on to study in tertiary institutions (see details of this later in this article).
